Sustainable art transport echoes Picasso’s pioneering spirit
We were honored to be approached by Fundación Almine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso (FABA) to find the most sustainable way possible to transport artworks made at the end of Picasso’s career.
The artworks travelled first to PoMo in Trondheim (NO) and then on to Moderna Museet in Stockholm (SE) and Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg in Aalborg (DK). FABA acknowledges both the importance of allowing new generations to experience Picasso’s work first-hand, and the responsibility to rethink how we can continue to give these new generations access now and far into the future.
Picasso’s late work was once dismissed, yet it now reads as a premonition of future art movements—raw, free, and unconcerned with convention. Carrying that legacy forward means more than preserving the work itself; it means rethinking how it travels.
By transporting the works in reusable Turtles, we were able to bring the need for extra, unnecessary transports and single-use packing materials to an absolute minimum without comprimising on quality. Sustainable art transport echoes Picasso’s pioneering spirit, ensuring his work continues to move—responsibly—into the future.
