What will you do?
As an Art Handler, you will always be on the road with a colleague, travelling to clients in the art world—museums, private lenders, galleries, and more. No two days are the same.
Together with your colleague, you are the face of our company on site and the main point of contact for our clients.
You will work closely with project managers and planners to determine the best approach for each assignment, where your input is highly valued.
Your main tasks include carefully and professionally packing unique and often irreplaceable artworks using specialised packaging materials. A key example is our in-house developed transport crate, the “Turtle,” now widely used as a standard in museums around the world.
You will then load the packed artworks and transport them safely and securely to their next destination, both within Belgium and internationally, using our state-of-the-art ArtVans and ArtTrucks.
Once on site, you and your colleague will unpack and often install the artworks.
Who are you?
You are a cheerful, enthusiastic person with a strong sense of responsibility
You understand that flexibility is essential in this profession; working hours may vary depending on assignments
You hold a valid driving licence B/C(E) and are comfortable with regular international multi-day travel
You are a strong team player
You work accurately, in a structured way, and can also operate independently when needed
You are eager to learn and develop new skills
You communicate clearly and professionally in Dutch, French and/or English
You handle your work with discretion and respect confidentiality at all times
You are physically fit and enjoy hands-on work
You are solution-oriented and proactive when challenges arise
You can provide a certificate of good conduct
We are also open to people who feel stuck in their current job and want to explore a completely new field—age is not a barrier.
If you are just starting out and have no experience but the right mindset, you are very welcome as well. We will train you step by step on the job.
What do we offer?
A role that offers new opportunities every day to grow and learn in a highly supportive environment where development is encouraged.
Career growth is not just a promise—it is actively supported. We value your skills and potential more than your diploma.
You will join a company in full expansion and regularly visit major museums and galleries across Europe, working with exceptional artworks from both contemporary and classical art history.
You will become part of a diverse, motivated team that works closely with other departments within the HIZKIA group. We collaborate respectfully, focus on solutions, and maintain a flexible and approachable mindset.
We offer flexible working arrangements, including full-time, part-time, or seasonal work options.
When travelling abroad, accommodation is always provided in hotels.
You will receive 20 days of paid holiday (full-time basis) and have the option to take overtime as additional leave.
In return for your dedication and enthusiasm, we offer a competitive salary package, including meal vouchers, group insurance, and bicycle allowance.
