CollectionCare

Hizkia Van Kralingen participates in research funded by the EU.

The CollectionCare project aims to develop an innovative and affordable system that can support small and medium-sized museums and private collection owners in the preventive conservation of art objects.

Various environmental conditions are measured and monitored using sensors. Both during storage, handling and transport. This includes air humidity, temperature, UV, pollution and vibration.

By collecting this information and processing it in a smart program, the system can provide conservation advice for the object in question. In this research, universities, computer specialists and museums are connected to each other to arrive at a working system. This amounts to 18 participating parties from 9 countries.

Ultimately, Hizkia Van Kralingen will mainly contribute to facilitating the practical tests of the system in the form of transport and handling of the art objects. For more information you can check the CollectionCare website.
