Metamorphoses

The Rijksmuseum’s spring exhibition Metamorphoses is one of epic proportions.

And HIZKIA is very proud to have played a role in its realisation.

At the heart of the exhibition is Metamorphoses, the classical poem by Ovid that tells the story of the world from its beginning to the death of Julius Caesar. For centuries, this collection of myths about change, love, loss, and transformation has been seen as the artist’s bible. Painters, sculptors, and writers have returned to Ovid’s stories again and again, finding new ways to bring his world of shifting shapes and emotions to life.

Like Ovid’s tales, the road to this exhibition was ambitious, complex, and full of movement. Works travelled from around the world, all coordinated through close collaboration between the European HIZKIA offices.

The result is an exhibition that invites visitors to experience transformation firsthand, and to discover how ancient stories continue to resonate in our modern world.
